Free Consultation

Anyone who is injured at work probably has a million questions going through their head, such as:

  • How am I going to provide for my family if I am out of work for an extended period of time?
  • Who is going to pay all the medical bills?
  • Will my employer hold my job for me?

It is for that reason that I offer a great deal of information on this website about what to do when you are injured at work, and how to protect yourself against insurance companies that want to cut off your benefits.  However, many people just need to talk to someone.

That’s why I’d like to offer you a No-Cost, No-Obligation Consultation.

The process couldn’t be simpler – just call my office at 919-460-5422 and tell my receptionist that you want to schedule a No-Cost, No-Obligation Consultation.  Alternatively, you may fill out the contact form on the left hand side of this page and someone will call you back within 24 hours.

Many people just have a couple of questions that can be answered in general terms over the phone.  Still others want to come in to meet with me to get their questions answered.

Appointments are available during regular office hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  If you live a long way from my office and can’t make it in, then we can either schedule a phone conference of a virtual meeting via Skype.  There is no cost to meet with an attorney.

However, I do have one requirement – you must attend any appointment you schedule.

When you come in for your No-Cost, No-Obligation Consultation, you can expect several things:

  1. You will meet with a lawyer (me), not a paralegal or legal assistant.
  2. We won’t try to talk you into hiring us.  The Consultation is an information gathering session for you, not an opportunity for us to give a high-pressured sales pitch.  We don’t accept every person who might have a case – because a lot of people need information, not a lawyer.  We want to make sure you have the information you need, before you decide whether to hire a lawyer.
  3. You’ll get up to an hour of free attorney time.  During that time we will review your case with you, ask you questions, answer your questions, determine your goals and get to know you a little better.  (If you need more time, we won’t bill you or ask you to leave.  We’ll stay with you until all your questions are answered.)
  4. You’ll get some straight answers on how we would handle your case if we were your attorney.  Once we know what you want, we’ll tell you whether we believe we can get it for you and exactly how we would go about representing you.

What do I need to bring to my No-Cost, No-Obligation Consultation?

  1. Your payroll information.  This includes your past year’s W-2 and any and all paystubs that you can find.  Insurance companies will often pay out the wrong amount (hint – it’s usually lower than it should be!), so any information you can give us to help us calculate your average weekly wage would be helpful.
  2. Any and all Industrial Commission forms.  We will need to know the status of your claim – whether it has been denied, accepted, or just temporarily accepted – so that we can give you the proper advice.
  3. Medical records or the names of the doctors you have seen.  If you have copies of the medical records, all the better – but we can get those if you have the names of the doctors you have seen and the dates that you saw them.  In addition, we would love to see any out of work notes that your doctor has given you.  Consider all the doctors you have seen, including MRI’s, physical therapists and chiropractors.  We’re lawyers – we love paper.
  4. Names, dates and addresses of any and all witnesses who my have knowledge of your accident.
  5. Completed Intake Questionnaire.  You can download a copy from our website, or we will email you a copy after you schedule your appointment.
