Do I need a Workers Compensation Lawyer?

If you are injured at work, one of the last things on your mind is whether or not you should call a workers compensation lawyer to assist you with your “case”.  The most important thing you can do after the injury is let your supervisor know what happened and get to the doctor to make sure you are ok.  (Click here for more information on what you should do if you are injured).  If you are going to be out of work for any prolonged period of time, then you will need to initiate a claim through the North Carolina Industrial Commission.

It’s important for you to understand that the insurance companies don’t want to pay you, and they will do everything they can to avoid paying you the benefits that you may be legally entitled to.

At this point, it may be helpful to talk to a workers compensation lawyer who can answer any legal questions you have and caution you about potential pitfalls that you may encounter after you file your claim.  If the insurance company has asked to take your recorded statement, or perhaps made you a settlement offer in exchange for a signed release, then we would recommend that you contact a workers compensation lawyer to help you and make sure you are protecting yourself.

At The Hart Law Firm, we would be happy to answer any initial questions you have.  Fill out our online contact form, or call a workers compensation lawyer today for a free consultation at (919) 460-5422.
